This page will cover news about a myriad of topics, from embezzlement and business, to finance and investments. The news pieces found on this page have been researched and collated by Steve Sorensen. Embezzlement, business, finance, and investments will be mainly covered but other industry-related news may also be included.
To underline the dangers of embezzlement, I have put together this News page to help my clients and readers stay up-to-date about the latest schemes and scams designed to siphon money without their knowledge.
Embezzlement is defined as, “theft or misappropriation of funds placed in one’s trust or belonging to one’s employer.” I think the key word here is trust. When business owners place too much trust, they could be unwittingly putting themselves in danger.
Of course, business owners want to trust their employees, they want their staff to act in good faith, but without checks and balances, the temptation to steal becomes stronger. Your employees are only humans after all. They may not be able to resist the temptation to embezzle, if they have control over a huge sum of money without anyone keeping them accountable.
There’s this saying—fool me once, shame on you, but fool me twice, shame on me!
I think this is one adage that best summarizes the importance of keeping vigilant against embezzlement. A business owner can only trust so much and should never think his or her model employee as perfect.
This news page is not meant to spread negativity in your workplace. The last thing I want is to ruin employer-employee relations when one party harbors suspicions and doubts over the other party. My mere intention is to show my clients and readers that cases of embezzlement do happen, and they happen too often enough that one should always err on the side of caution.
As I have mentioned numerous times on this website, the minute you think it can’t happen to you is the minute you put you and your business at higher risk.
Apart from bringing you the latest news about embezzlement, I will also cover urgent and relevant news about Business, Personal Finance, Banking, Investments, Market News, and more. As a financial blogger, I am also committed to helping my readers understand more about the financial world, and help them navigate it without stress or confusion.
In the case of embezzlement news, I will also attempt to discuss them further in my Blog. There I can explain step by step what went wrong or what the business owner could have done to prevent such acts of theft. As I envision the Blog page to be a space of discussion among my readers and myself, please feel free to forward news items that are fit to be shared on this page.
If you have been a victim of embezzlement, you may also share your story here with me, Steve Sorensen. Embezzlement can take on many forms, from forgery and fraudulent claims, to downright stealing. Please feel free to let me know about your experience, so that others may learn from it and altogether avoid falling trap to embezzlement.
